The cold cutting saw uses a cutting blade with carbide tips arranged in a circular manner. This blade rotates at high speeds, slicing through the material to be cut, generating chips as it goes. The blade’s teeth are designed to resist the heat and friction generated during the cutting process. The teeth have a small amount of clearance angle to create a space for the chips generated during the cutting process. The carbide tips are robust and have high wear resistance, therefore, able to withstand the abuse of cutting hard and dense materials.
The cutting action of a cold cutting saw is unique in that the heat generated during the cutting process is minimal. Unlike traditional cutting tools which generate much heat, cold cutting saws keep the workpiece at low temperatures, minimizing any warping or metal deformity.
