The overmolding process is the process of injection molding a material onto the surface or inside of another material product. The two materials are joined by physical (snap, surface roller, thread) or chemical (co-adhesive, miscible) to form a process method that appears to be a single part but is made of two materials.
1.1 Basic Materials
The first type of injected material is called the substrate or basic material, which we call the body. Hard plastic can be ABS, PA6/PA66-GF, PP, PC, PC+ABS, etc.
1.2 Covering Materials
The second injection material is called the covering material, which is commonly known as the coating material. The commonly used covering material is elastic plastic material. Soft material commonly used artificial rubber, TPU, TPR, TPE, soft PVC and other rubber materials.
